McDonald's (MCD) Global Comps Up 8.2%; Sees Q1 EPS of $0.62

McDonald's Corporation (NYSE: MCD) said comparable sales for McDonald's restaurants worldwide increased 8.2%. McDonald's U.S. posted a 6.2% comparable sales gain in March. Europe rose 11.2%. Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa, comparable sales rose 9.6% in March.

First quarter 2007 earnings are expected to be approximately $0.62 per share, including a $0.01 per share positive impact from foreign currency translation and reflecting a tax rate of approximately 30%, primarily due to the net benefit of certain discrete tax items. The consensus is $0.57.
