The McClatchy Company (NYSE: MNI) reported that consolidated advertising revenues in October 2006 decreased 2.1% and total revenues were down 2.2% compared to pro forma revenues (including the addition of newspapers purchased in the Knight Ridder acquisition). Year-to-date pro forma advertising revenues grew 0.6% and total pro forma revenues were down 0.2%.
The McClatchy Company is the second-largest newspaper company in the United States, with 32 daily newspapers and approximately 50 non-dailies.
