Leap Wireless International, Inc. (NASDAQ: LEAP) announced that it gained approximately 161,000 net new customer additions during the third quarter of 2006, bringing total net additions for the first three quarters of 2006 to approximately 329,000.
The Company's net additions for the third quarter of 2006 are an improvement of 138,000 net additions over the customer numbers reported for the third quarter of 2005.
The Company reported a 73 percent improvement in gross additions with 405,000 gross additions for the third quarter compared to 234,000 for the same period last year. Customer churn for the third quarter of 2006 was 4.3 percent, which is an improvement of 0.1 percent compared to the 4.4 percent churn reported for the third quarter of 2005. The Company now has approximately 1.97 million total customers.
