Journal Register (JRC) Reports Advertising Revenues For May
Journal Register Company (NYSE: JRC) reported that total advertising revenues for the four weeks ended May 28, 2006 were $35.4 million, a decrease of 1.6% as compared to $36.0 million for the four weeks ended May 29, 2005.
On a pro forma basis, Journal Register Company's advertising revenues for Period Five decreased 2.6%, as compared to Period Five of 2005, reflecting particular softness in the Company's Great Lakes clusters, Michigan and Greater Cleveland.
Retail advertising revenues, on a pro forma basis, were up 0.3% in Period Five, as compared to the prior year period.
National advertising revenues decreased 12.3% in Period Five, on a pro forma basis, as compared to the prior year period.
The Company produced online revenues in Period Five of $1.3 million, an increase of 34.5% as compared to the prior year period, on a pro forma basis.
