J. C. Penney (NYSE: JCP) is taking back some share from rival retailers, according to analyst Dana Telsey of Telsey Advisory, citing checks with industry contacts. J.C. Penney is taking share from Bon-Ton (Nasdaq: BONT), Stage Stors (NYSE: SSI) and to a lesser extent Sears (Nasdaq: SHLD), said the analyst.
Telsey expects positive same-store sales trends to continue due to promotional pricing, restored inventory, online sales, and as a result of easy comps through Q3 2014.
Q4 comps are seen up 7%.
Telsey has a price target of $15.00 on J. C. Penney.
