H&R Block Inc. (NYSE: HRB) reported tax season results for the interim period from Nov. 1, 2006, through Feb. 28, 2007.
Total clients served (for both the company's retail operations and digital tax solutions business) was 12.7 million, an increase of 468,000, or 3.8%, from the prior year period. Digital tax clients served advanced 15% over 2006 while office based clients increased 1%.
"Our year to date results are solid and continue to reflect a slightly slower start to the tax season industrywide," said Mark A. Ernst, chairman and chief executive officer. "We are well positioned to serve the needs of our clients as we look to the April 17 filing deadline."
