Good Times Restaurants (NASDAQ: GTIM) announced that same store sales for its Good Times Burgers and Frozen Custard concept increased 12% in August 2014 over the prior year’s increase of 18.7%, representing a two-year increase of 30.7%, the eleventh consecutive month of two-year same store increases over 20%. The Company also said that September will be the last month for which it will report monthly same store sales results but that it plans to continue to report quarterly same store sales results.
Boyd Hoback, President & CEO said, “We look forward to reporting this quarter’s financial results as we expect the continued double-digit sales increases to result in expanded operating margins, consistent with last quarter’s results. We have a good pipeline of product innovation for fiscal 2015 that supports our overall brand strategy and messaging along with the continued remodeling of our older restaurants that we hope will continue our strong sales trends through next year.”
The Company also reported that it plans to roll out new All Natural Flavored Boneless Wings in October that include Buffalo, Garlic Parmesan and Spicy Orange Habanero flavor options. Hoback added, “Last fall’s Buffalo Wing promotion was very successful so we’ve added a couple of exciting new flavors to the lineup this year to keep our All Natural, Hand Breaded Chicken Tender category vibrant and interesting. It is a very large category of our sales mix, so we want to leverage the platform as much as we can.”
