Gannett Co. (GCI) Reports November Revenues

Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI) reported today that total pro forma operating revenues for the eleventh period ended November 26, 2006 increased 3.5% driven by revenue growth in both its newspaper and broadcasting segments. For comparison purposes, the strengthening exchange rate of the British pound also affected results for the company's UK operations. If the exchange rate had remained constant year-over-year, total pro forma operating revenues would have been 2.3% higher for the period.
Pro forma local advertising revenues were 1.2% higher on a slight decline in ROP ad volume in November. Pro forma national advertising revenues in November increased 12.% on a 2.2% decline in ad volume.
Pro forma classified revenues were 2.8% lower in the eleventh period on a 3.8 percent decline in ROP ad volume.
Pro forma broadcasting revenues, which include Captivate, increased 20.0% in the period driven by strong politically related ad demand and online growth. Television revenues were 18.5% higher for the eleventh period.
Pro forma local advertising revenues were 1.2% higher on a slight decline in ROP ad volume in November. Pro forma national advertising revenues in November increased 12.% on a 2.2% decline in ad volume.
Pro forma classified revenues were 2.8% lower in the eleventh period on a 3.8 percent decline in ROP ad volume.
Pro forma broadcasting revenues, which include Captivate, increased 20.0% in the period driven by strong politically related ad demand and online growth. Television revenues were 18.5% higher for the eleventh period.
