Gannett Co (GCI) Reports Operating Revenues for October

Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI) reported today that total pro forma operating revenues for the tenth period ended October 29, 2006 increased 2.0% driven by higher advertising demand in its broadcasting segment.
Pro forma (assuming that all properties presently owned were owned in both periods) newspaper advertising revenues in October decreased 2.0% compared with the tenth period in 2005 on a decline of 2.0% in ROP volume and a 2.6% decrease in preprint distribution.
Pro forma local advertising revenues were up 1.4% on a small decline in ROP ad volume in October. Pro forma classified revenues were 3.4% lower in the tenth period on a 1.8% decrease in ROP ad volume. Pro forma national advertising revenues in October were 7.0% lower on an 18.0% decline in ad volume.
