GES January Comparable Store Sales Up 4.4%

Guess?, Inc. (NYSE: GES) reported January retail sales results for the fiscal month ended January 29, 2005. The Company also announced that it is adopting the National Retail Federation (NRF) calendar for reporting monthly sales results as further described below.
Based on the NRF calendar for the current and year-ago periods, total January retail sales for the fiscal month ended January 29, 2005 were $28.1 million, an increase of 10.2% from sales of $25.5 million for the fiscal month ended January 31, 2004. Comparable store sales for fiscal January 2005 increased by 4.4% compared to fiscal January 2004. Comparable store sales for January 2004 increased 5.1% under the new 2004 calendar compared to 9.5% as reported under the Company's previous calendar.
