Fred's (NASDAQ: FRED) reported Q1 EPS of $0.03, $0.01 better than the analyst estimate of $0.02. Revenue for the quarter came in at $549.55 million versus the consensus estimate of $553.9 million.
Comparable store sales increased 1.0% for the first quarter versus an increase of 0.8% in the first quarter of last year.
