Fred's (FRED) Reports Comparable Store Sales Declined 1.4%

Fred's Inc. (NASDAQ: FRED) reported total sales for the month decreased 1% to $128.0 million from $129.2 million in August 2008. Comparable store sales for the month declined 1.4% versus an increase of 2.1% in the same period last year.
