Fred's Inc. (NASDAQ: FRED) said September comparable store sales for the month increased 1.1%. Fred's total sales for the month were $161.3 million, up slightly from $161.1 million in September 2007.
Fred's is lowering Q3 EPS guidance to a range of $0.14 to $0.16 per diluted share. The consensus is $0.17.
