Family Dollar (FDO) September same-store sales up 0.5%

Family Dollar (NYSE: FDO) Sept. same-store sales up 0.5%. Analysts, on average, were expecting same-store sales to rise 0.7 percent, according to Reuters Estimates.
Last month, Family Dollar forecast September same-store sales would rise 1 percent to 3 percent. But when it reported quarterly earnings Oct. 4 it revised that forecast, saying September sales were expected to be flat to up 1 percent.
Total sales for the five weeks ended Oct. 6 rose 3.9 percent to $614.2 million.
Family Dollar said it expects October same-sales to be flat to up 2%.
