FDO Saw Feb. Same-Store Sales Increase 4.4%

Family Dollar Stores (NYSE: FDO) reported that net sales for the four weeks ended February 25, 2006, increased 10.8% to approximately $507.4 million from $458.1 million for the four weeks ended February 26, 2005. Comparable store sales for the four-week period increased approximately 4.4%. The Company had 6,002 stores as of February 25, 2006, including 32 new stores opened in the fiscal February period.
