Dillard’s (DDS) Comps Up 2% in June

Dillard’s, Inc. (NYSE: DDS) announced today that merchandise sales (“sales”) for the five weeks ended July 3, 2010 were $506,449,000 compared to sales for the five weeks ended July 4, 2009 of $497,165,000. Sales increased 2% in both total and comparable stores for the five-week period.
Sales for the 22 weeks ended July 3, 2010 were $2,365,321,000 compared to sales for the 22 weeks ended July 4, 2009 of $2,344,280,000. Total sales increased 1%. Sales in comparable stores increased 2% for the 22-week period.
During the five weeks ended July 3, 2010, sales were above the average total Company trend in the Eastern region and slightly below trend in the Central region. Sales were below trend in the Western region. The sales performance in the cosmetics category was significantly below trend.
