DCX Dec US Sales Down 2%; Chrysler Group Down 5%
DaimlerChrysler AG (NYSE: DCX), the third largest U.S. auto maker, today reported total group sales of 220,641 passenger vehicles in the U.S. for December 2005, a 2 percent decrease compared to December 2004. For the full calendar year 2005 DaimlerChrysler U.S. passenger sales were 2,529,254, up 4 percent compared to the year before when 2,427,634 vehicles were sold.
Chrysler Group, which consists of the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands, posted sales of 189,449 vehicles in the U.S., a decrease of 5 percent. Total year sales for the Chrysler Group rose nearly 100,000 units, or 5 percent to 2,304,833 units.
