Costco Wholesale Corporation (NASDAQ: COST) said comparable sales for the four-week and nine-week periods ended November 4, 2007 rose 9%. Comp sales rose 7% in the US and 17% Internationally.
The U.S. comparable sales figure includes the effect of recent gasoline price inflation, with the average sales price per gallon of gasoline up 25% year-over-year for the month of October. Excluding gasoline price inflation, U.S. comparable sales in October would have been 5%.
