Cost Plus (CPWM) Reports Q2 Earnings; Guides Q3 Sales/Comps

Cost Plus (Nasdaq: CPWM) reports a Q2 loss from continuing operations of $1.14, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.97). Revenues for the quarter were $221 million, versus the consensus of $218.67 million.

Comps for the quarter came in at up 1.2%.

Sees Q3 same store sales in the range of negative 2% to positive 2%. Sales for the quarter are expected to be $217-$228 million, versus the Street estimate of $222.24 million.

Cost Plus, Inc., along with its subsidiaries, operates as a specialty retailer of casual home furnishings and entertaining products in the United States.
