Children's Place (PLCE) Comps Increase 4% in December 2009

The Children's Place Retail Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLCE) today announced net sales of $224.4 million for the five-week period ended January 2, 2010, a 10% increase compared to net sales of $204.6 million for the five-week period ended January 3, 2009. Comparable retail sales, which include online sales, increased 4% in December 2009 on top of a 5% increase in December 2008. During December 2009, comparable store sales increased 3% in the U.S. and declined 6% in Canada, while online sales increased 54%.

The Company did not open or close any stores during December 2009.
