Chico's FAS (CHS) Reports Incease in March Sales

Chico's FAS, Inc. (NYSE: CHS) reported that its March sales results for the five-week period ended April 7, 2007, increased 22.0% to $191.2 million from $156.8 million reported for the five-week period ended April 1, 2006. Comparable store sales for the Company-owned stores increased 5.2% for the five-week period ended April 7, 2007 compared to the same five-week period last year ending April 8, 2006.
For the nine-week period ended April 7, 2007, total sales increased 19.3% to $304 million from $255 million reported for the nine-week period ended April 1, 2006. Comparable store sales for the Company-owned stores increased 1.5% for the nine-week period ended April 7, 2007 compared to the nine-week period last year ending April 8, 2006.
