Brinker International (EAT) Reports Decline in August Same-Store Sales

Brinker International, Inc. (NYSE: EAT), announced today August comparable store sales decreased 2.6% for the four-week period ending Aug. 30, 2006. Chili's saw a decrease of 2.8% for August same-store sales, Macaroni Grill down 2.5%, On The Border down 1.9% and Maggiano's down 2.0%.
At the end of fiscal year 2006, Brinker International either owned, operated, or franchised 1,622 restaurants under the names Chili's Grill & Bar (1,200 units), Romano's Macaroni Grill (241 units), Maggiano's Little Italy (37 units), and On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina (144 units).
