AutoNation (AN) Retail New Vehicle Sales Up 14% in July

AutoNation, Inc. (NYSE: AN), announced that its retail new vehicle unit sales in July 2012, as reported to the applicable automotive manufacturers, totaled 21,650, an increase of 14% as compared to July 2011.

Retail new vehicle unit sales in July 2012 for AutoNation's operating segments were as follows:

• 6,451 for Domestic, up 5% versus July 2011,
  
  
• 11,510 for Import, up 26% versus July 2011, and
  
  
• 3,689 for Premium Luxury, up 1% versus July 2011.

On a daily selling rate basis, AutoNation’s retail new vehicle unit sales increased 24%. There were 24 selling days in July 2012 compared to 26 selling days in July 2011.
