AutoNation (AN) New Vehicle Sales Modestly Higher in January 2014

AutoNation, Inc. (NYSE: AN) announced that its total retail new vehicle unit sales in January 2014, as reported to the applicable automotive manufacturers, were 19,434, compared to 19,351 in January 2013. Same-store retail new vehicle unit sales in January 2014 were 18,964, compared to 19,351 in January 2013. Total retail new vehicle unit sales for AutoNation's operating segments in January 2014 were as follows:

-- 6,006 for Domestic, down 2% versus January 2013,

-- 9,646 for Import, up 3% versus January 2013, and

-- 3,782 for Premium Luxury, down 2% versus January 2013.
