Applebee's International, Inc. (Nasdaq: APPB) reported comparable sales for the four-week period ended May 21, 2006.
System-wide domestic comparable sales decreased 1.9% for the May period, while comparable sales for domestic franchise restaurants decreased 2.0%.
Comparable sales for company restaurants decreased 1.9%, reflecting a decrease in guest traffic of between 5.5 and 6.0%, combined with a higher average check.
