American Apparel (AMEX: APP) reports June 2008 Comparable SSS Up 16%
American Apparel reported that for the month of June 2008, sales for stores open for more than twelve months increased 16% over the year ago period, on a constant currency basis. For the month of June 2007, comparable store sales increased 28%. There were 145 stores in the sales comparison for June 2008.
For the second quarter ended June 30, 2008, comparable store sales increased 23% over the second quarter of 2007. As previously reported, for the second quarter ended June 30, 2007, comparable store sales increased 24%.
American Apparel opened four new retail stores during the month of June in the following locations: Studio City, California; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Barcelona, Spain; and Florence, Italy.
