American Airlines (AMR) Reports July Traffic

American Airlines (NYSE: AMR) reported a July load factor of 87.9% -- an increase of 0.8 points compared to the same period last year. Traffic decreased 2.9% year over year as capacity decreased 3.7%.
Domestic traffic decreased 2.3% year over year on 3.5% less capacity. International traffic decreased by 4.0% relative to last year on a capacity decrease of 4.1%. American boarded 9.1 million passengers in July.
American Eagle Airlines reported system wide traffic for July increased 0.2% from July 2006, on a capacity decrease of 0.9%. System load factor was 79.6%, up 0.9 points year over year. American Eagle boarded 2.0 million passengers in July, down 1.0% from July 2006.
Domestic traffic decreased 2.3% year over year on 3.5% less capacity. International traffic decreased by 4.0% relative to last year on a capacity decrease of 4.1%. American boarded 9.1 million passengers in July.
