American Airlines (AMR) Reports Decrease in April Traffic

American Airlines (NYSE: AMR) reported an April load factor of 82.1%-- an increase of 0.4 points compared to the same period last year. Traffic decreased 3.3% year over year as capacity decreased 3.7%.
Domestic traffic decreased 3.7% year over year on 4.3% less capacity. International traffic decreased by 2.5% relative to last year on a capacity decrease of 2.7%.
American boarded 8.2 million passengers in April.
American Eagle Airlines reported systemwide traffic for April decreased 2.6% from April 2006, on a capacity decrease of 2.4%. System load factor was 74.2%, down 0.2 points year over year. American Eagle boarded 1.75 million passengers in April, down 4 percent from April 2006.
Domestic traffic decreased 3.7% year over year on 4.3% less capacity. International traffic decreased by 2.5% relative to last year on a capacity decrease of 2.7%.
