AirTran Airways (AAI) Reports Increase in September Traffic

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI) reported that its September traffic as measured in revenue passenger miles increased 11.6% on an increase in available seat miles of 28.6%. Total passenger enplanements increased to a record 1.4 million customers resulting in a September load factor of 61.8%.

For the third quarter AirTran Airways' traffic rose 22.0% on a 27.1% increase in capacity for a load factor or 73.2%. Total passengers represented another quarterly record of over 5.1 million customers.
