AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), today reported traffic for the month of March 2009. The airline's load factor represents a new all-time company record for the month of March and for the first quarter.

Revenue Passenger Miles (000) March '09 = 1,586,579 vs. March '08 = 1,709,125 (-7.2%)

Available Seat Miles (000) March '09 = 1,966,714 vs. March '08 = 2,146,593 (8.4%)

Load Factor March '09 = 80.7% vs. March '08 = 79.6% (1.1 points)

Passengers Enplaned March '09 = 2,050,161 vs. March '08 = 2,198,395 (-6.7%)
