AirTran (AAI) Reports Increase in May Traffic

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI) reported record traffic for the month of May 2007. The airline reported that revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and load factor represent new company records for the month of May, while available seat miles and enplaned passengers represent all-time company records.
For May, traffic grew by 22% to more than 1.4 billion RPMs based on a 21% increase in capacity. The company's load factor for the month was 76.4%. The airline enplaned nearly 2.1 million passengers for the month, a 17.2% increase from May 2006.
