ST. PAUL, Minn. - October 7, 2026 - hope&plum, the women-owned babywearing brand recognized for its size-inclusive carriers, artist-led prints, and independently operated business model, has unveiled a new public mural at its St. Paul warehouse as part of the 2026 Chroma Zone Mural & Art Festival.
The mural, titled Moments that Matter, was created by Minnesota-based mosaic artist Daniela Bianchini and centers on themes of women's friendship, community, and the act of slowing down to connect. Installed on the exterior of hope&plum's building, the mural represents a full-circle moment for the brand.
The artwork celebrates a women-owned business operating within a women-owned building, created by a female artist, with subject matter focused on women's connection and mutual support. The piece stands as a visible statement from one of the few independently owned, woman-led, and woman-funded brands in a babywearing industry increasingly shaped by private equity investment. The mosaic format reinforces that message visually, illustrating how individual pieces can come together to form something more cohesive and meaningful as a whole.
For hope&plum, the mural is a public expression of the principles that have guided the company since its founding: prioritizing people and parents over profits, compensating independent artists for original work, employing women with benefits, and building the company without private equity or outside investors.
"Being a woman-owned, woman-led, and woman-funded business in this space is not the easy path," said Skye Amundsen, co-founder of hope&plum. "We are operating in an industry where so many brands are backed by private equity, and that pressure can flatten what makes a company personal, creative, and accountable to the families it serves. This mural is a public reminder that women do not have to shrink to build something lasting."
The company purchased its St. Paul building as part of a long-term commitment to growing intentionally and independently - an extension of its mission to create more women-owned spaces and resist the consolidation of creative, community-centered businesses into anonymous investment portfolios. Each major decision the company has made - from artist collaborations and employment practices to ethical production and property ownership - has been grounded in the position that women-owned businesses should not have to become smaller or less distinctive in order to sustain themselves.
With Moments that Matter, Daniela Bianchini sought to capture the ordinary but significant act of being present with others. The mural depicts women gathered in connection, framed by color, warmth, and movement. Its message reflects the view that care, creativity, and community are central to building a business in the baby industry. The mural functions as both a celebration and a declaration: hope&plum remains committed to building a babywearing brand rooted in people, artistry, and women's empowerment.
The public can view Moments that Matter at hope&plum's warehouse in St. Paul's Creative Enterprise Zone as part of the 2026 Chroma Zone Mural & Art Festival.
