What Do Canadians Think About Companies Supporting Good Causes?

New research to be premiered at Companies & Causes Canada October 11, 2017

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- A major question hangs over the nonprofit and corporate professionals that will attend the upcoming Companies & Causes Canada conference this October.

What do Canadians think about corporate initiatives designed to build a better world and an enterprise’s bottom line?

To shed light on that fundamental question, Companies & Causes Canada has partnered with Ipsos Marketing Canada to field a major study of Canadians from their perspectives as consumers and employees. Results of the study will be premiered at the Companies & Causes Canada conference on October 11 at the Toronto Board of Trade.

This joint effort marks the fourth time Companies & Causes Canada has partnered with Ipsos to share actionable insights with business and nonprofit executives building programs that do well by doing good.

"Last year’s survey revealed very strong support among Canadians for corporate social initiatives including a willingness to switch brands based on such efforts,” said Companies & Causes President David Hessekiel.

In addition to this important research, this year’s conference will feature impressive thought leaders, case studies and valuable training. Highlights include:

  • A kick-off presentation by internationally-recognized pioneer of purpose and CSR Carol Cone highlighting current market trends;
  • A luncheon keynote by Paul Alofs, President & CEO of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation on building more successful charitable organizations;
  • A “CEO Perspective” talk by French’s Elliott Penner on embracing cause to strengthen a business;
  • Training sessions on numerous topics including measuring partnership value, developing new cross-sector relationships and making workforce volunteerism work for companies and causes.

This is the fourth annual gathering of corporate citizenship professionals in Toronto, quickly becoming the must-attend annual meeting place of corporate and nonprofit professionals dedicated to doing well by doing good together.
