“It’s so important to make reading fun and inviting to children at an early age,” said co-author Shannon Nella. “During pre-school and early grade years, decoding and comprehending words can be daunting to some children. I Like to Fart embraces a topic that young children love, and uses it to introduce some basic words and concepts. And it makes them laugh as they turn the pages.”
According to research from the Ferst Readers foundation for childhood literacy, one in four children in America grow up without learning how to read.
I Like to Fart (24 pages, full color with illustrations) is available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle format. It mixes humor and imagery to introduce basic sight words and provide an enjoyable reading experience for young children and their parents.
Nella added, “We set out to create the first book that your child actually wants to read by him or herself.”
