Veteran Financial Market Strategist Joins Alpine Macro as Partner

Harvinder Kalirai to head new Fixed Income and Currency Strategy Service

MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Alpine Macro, an independent investment strategy research firm dedicated to providing actionable analysis, insights, forecasts and asset allocation recommendations, has announced that veteran financial market strategist Harvinder Kalirai has joined its team effective February 1st.

As a Partner and Chief Fixed Income and Currency Strategist, Harvinder will be heading Alpine Macro’s Fixed Income and Currency research, and will spearhead Alpine Macro’s next product on fixed income and currencies, which will be launched in due course this year.

Harvinder most recently worked with BCA Research, where he headed the firm’s Foreign Exchange Strategy service from 2008 to 2016, and the BCA Daily Insights service from 2016 to 2018. Prior to BCA, Harvinder was Head of Currency Management at CIBC Global Asset Management. Previously, he held various positions at State Street Global Markets, including Senior Macro Strategist (London), Head of Currency Research, Asia-Pacific (Sydney), and Senior FX Strategist (Boston). Harvinder began his career at the Bank of Canada in 1995 with an MA (Economics) and a BCom (Finance) from McGill University. He also holds the CFA designation.
