Verizon to Host Military Spouse Appreciation Day Virtual Career Fair
Online job fair connects veterans and military spouses with companies
PHILADELPHIA, April 29, 2015 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Verizon and Veteran Recruiting will host the fifth annual Military Spouse Appreciation Day Virtual Career fair in support of the First Lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden's Joining Forces initiative. More than 9,000 veterans and military spouses are registered to attend.

Verizon is just one of the more than 30 companies who will participate in the virtual job fair. There are more than 50,000 jobs available nationwide with the companies who will attend, the other companies include: Aetna, Amazon, Apple, Anthem, Aramark, Boston Scientific, Comerica, Convergys, Eaton, Exelon, First Citizens Bank, First Data, Freeport McMoRan, Graybar, InterContinental Hotels Group, JP Morgan Chase, Lowes, Military Spouse Employment Partnership, Penske, Pfizer, Teletech, Travelers, TSA, Tyco, Union Pacific Railroad, Verizon, Waste Management, Western & Southern Life, Wells Fargo, and Xerox.

The virtual career fair is open to all active duty, guard, reservists, veterans, military spouses and caregivers. The virtual career fair enables the job seeker to meet and interact, in real time, with recruiters from a wide range of companies wherever they may be located. Since 2011, the companies who attend the Veteran recruiting virtual career fairs have hired more than 101,000 veterans and military spouses, and more than 330,000 veterans and military spouses attend the online events each year.
