Upcoming Live Tutorial Covers Deep Learning for Vision Processing

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., Jan. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On February 22, 2016, the primary Caffe developers from U.C. Berkeley's Vision and Learning Center will present a full-day detailed technical tutorial focused on convolutional neural networks for computer vision and the Caffe framework for deep learning. Organized by the Embedded Vision Alliance and Alliance founding member company BDTI, the tutorial will take participants from an introduction through the theory behind convolutional neural networks to their actual implementation, and includes multiple hands-on labs using Caffe, the most popular framework for convolutional neural networks.

Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have emerged as a very powerful technique for a range of computer vision tasks. This live technical tutorial begins with an introduction to the structure, operation, and training of CNNs and how they are used for computer vision. It explores the strengths and weaknesses of CNNs, and how to design and train them. The tutorial then introduces the Caffe open source framework for CNNs, and provides hands-on labs in creating, training, and deploying CNNs using Caffe.
