TreeServe Expands Its Presence Through Two Strategic Acquisitions

NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- TreeServe, LLC ("TreeServe"), a portfolio company of Soundcore Capital Partners, LP ("Soundcore"), a New York-based private equity firm, is pleased to announce its acquisition of both Dave Leonard Tree Specialists ("Dave Leonard") and JL Tree Service ("JL Tree").

Based in Lexington, KY, Dave Leonard has built a reputation for excellence in residential tree care, plant healthcare, and mulch services over the last 50 years. Under the continued leadership of Ross Raterman, the company brings deep regional expertise and a legacy of arborist excellence to TreeServe.

Based in Fairfax, VA, JL Tree Service is a leading provider of tree care services. With a strong foundation in trimming, pruning, removals, and plant healthcare, JL Tree has served the DC metro area for over 50 years. Sean Lewett will continue to lead the business, bringing operational excellence and a deep network of industry relationships.

With the acquisition of Dave Leonard and JL Tree, TreeServe now offers tree care, plant and shrub health care, and lawn care services in six states and will continue pursuing strategic opportunities in high growth MSAs in the Northeast, Southeast and Midwest.
