The Intero Foundation Awards $44,000 to Local Children-Focused Organizations in October

Nearly $260,000 Has Been Given In 2016

CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Intero Foundation, a non-profit devoted to helping children in need, announced their latest round of funding supported by Intero’s offices in Hollister and Morgan Hill. The Foundation donated $44,000 to local nonprofits that support low-income and disadvantaged youth. Since its inception, the Foundation, which is funded, promoted and governed by Intero Real Estate Services’ agents and employees, has raised more than $4.5 million.

“We’re so thrilled that we’re able to give to such wonderful organizations around the Bay Area,” said Tom Tognoli, Intero President & CEO. “We know that these grants are going to be put to good use and we are so happy that we can help children in our community.”

Recipients of the October grants include:

1. Emmaus House: The organization was awarded $6,500 for the “My Child My Joy” program that provides joint counseling to mothers and children who are victims of domestic violence. The organization also was awarded $3,000 for a Thanksgiving dinner and holiday gifting that includes toys and winter clothing.

2. Chamberlains Children Center: The nonprofit received $6,500 to support the Art Therapy program. Chamberlain's Children Center provides residential treatment for children who have been victims of child abuse. The nonprofit also received $3,000 for their Kohl’s Holiday Shopping Trip. The shopping trip helps abused foster children in the residential care facility to pick out clothing that they like.

3. CASA of San Benito County: The organization received $3,000 to expand their volunteer training program to handle infants and toddlers under five years old. The organization also received $3,000 for holiday gifts for 80 foster children in San Benito County's Juvenile Dependency System.

4. Morgan Hill Inclusive Playground Project: The nonprofit received $16,000 to support the building of the first inclusive playground that is universally accessible in Morgan Hill.

5. Parents Helping Parents: The organization received $3,000 for a Holiday Party that will accommodate children with special needs. The grant will provide the ability for each child to get a picture with Santa, an onsite petting zoo, arts & crafts and an age appropriate gift for all children in attendance.
