Legislation Would Force Employers to Bargain Fairly, Timely, and in Good Faith

WASHINGTON, March 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Teamsters Union commends Sens. Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Cory Booker (D-NJ) for introducing the Faster Labor Contracts Act, which would require employers to collectively bargain with newly organized workers within 10 days of voting to form their union. The legislation is co-sponsored by Sens. Gary Peters (D-MI), Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio), and Jeff Merkley (D-OR).

The Faster Labor Contracts Act would amend the National Labor Relations Act to create a clear timetable to securing a first union contract.
