TAKE THE SAVVY PLEDGE™ TO HAVE A MONEY CONVERSATION
Income level differences, shame, a new Savvy Ladies Money Talk survey finds, are top reasons preventing women from having open and honest money conversations.
Money conversations indeed have a significant impact. The Money Talk survey of Savvy Ladies clients, who actively engaged in money discussions via the Helpline or participated in virtual workshops to enhance their financial literacy, indicates that:
- 75% of these women feel somewhat or very comfortable discussing their finances
- 19% feel somewhat uncomfortable
- 6% feel very uncomfortable discussing money.
However, half of the women cited income disparities, shame, embarrassment and fear of judgment as primary barriers to open and honest financial conversations. Additionally, about one-third expressed concerns about being taken advantage of and not knowing who to trust, and a quarter identified money as a private matter as the barrier.
The findings from the Money Talk client survey indicate that 69% of women express a desire to learn about financial options, 67% aim to enhance their investing knowledge, and more than fifty percent seek to bolster their financial confidence and cultivate a healthier money mindset. Additionally, clients of the Savvy Ladies Helpline report a 76% reduction in financial anxiety and an 80% increase in financial confidence following consultations with a financial advisor.
"In order to know how to grow it (your money) and build your wealth, women need to talk about it to get the best advice," shares
