His appointment as non-executive Chairman comes at a significant time for Strone Technology which has achieved a remarkable amount in just over 12 months including a successful seed round in February 2015.
“We welcome Richard joining us as non-executive Chairman at this very exciting time and the appointment will help to take us forward into the next phase of our growth.
“He brings extensive experience, a passion for technology start-ups and shares our vision for the future of Strone Technology,” said Tas Tudor, CEO and Director of Strone Technology.
“I am delighted to be involved with Strone, and can see enormous potential for the product. The team have made great progress to bring this innovation to market in record time,” added Mr Kimber.
Strone was created to solve a very real problem of international roaming and provides extremely affordable access to your own mobile number – for calls and messages – without incurring the roaming call charges. Importantly, it also allows the customer to be independent of any telco or platform.
“Strone will revolutionise the way we communicate when we travel overseas for business or leisure. It will drive communication costs down and give the power back to the consumer and give them certainty that they won’t come home to a huge bill,” said Mr Tudor.
Orders are being taken now for the first shipment of Strone Roam devices and it is expected that they will be available in the third quarter of 2015.
