Starlight Children's Foundation Delivers Halloween-Themed Programs to Pediatric Hospitals Nationwide

Hospital Gowns, Pants and Patient Activity Kits bring comfort, creativity and play to hospitalized children who might otherwise miss out on Halloween traditions.

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- For children facing hospitalization, celebrating Halloween can look very different from the traditions they enjoy at home. To bring the excitement, creativity and fun of the spooky season into pediatric hospitals nationwide, Starlight Children's Foundation distributed Halloween-themed programs, including adaptive Hospital Gowns and Pants and Patient Activity Kits (PAKs). Designed to bring comfort, encourage play and create moments of normalcy, these programs help hospitalized kids experience the happiness of Halloween, even during medical care.

Halloween-Themed Hospital Gowns and Pants

For hospitalized children, a traditional hospital gown can remind them they're patients first, not kids. Starlight's new Halloween-themed adaptive Hospital Gowns and Pants offer a colorful, festive alternative that combines the familiar look and feel of a T-shirt with soft, comfortable fabric and full coverage, helping children feel more like themselves. The gowns accommodate medical equipment and procedures, providing healthcare professionals with the accessibility they need while preserving children's comfort and dignity. By replacing clinical-looking attire with familiar clothing, these gowns and pants can ease anxiety, build confidence and encourage greater engagement with care, while giving kids the chance to dress up and celebrate Halloween like their friends and siblings at home.

Halloween-Themed Patient Activity Kits
Starlight's Halloween-themed PAKs bring the creativity, play and excitement of Halloween directly to hospitalized children who might otherwise miss out on the festivities. The PAKs also double as trick-or-treat totes, containing sensory toys, playing cards, puzzles, journals, markers and more. Toys and games encourage creative expression, offer a welcome distraction from stress and boredom, and inspire play, creating opportunities for children and their families to connect and share happy moments.

Pediatric hospitals across the country go to extraordinary lengths to create memorable Halloween experiences for children in their care. Recognizing these efforts, Starlight developed Halloween-themed programs to complement hospital celebrations.

"Starlight helps bring the joy of Halloween to the hospital by providing Halloween-themed Patient Activity Kits and seasonal gowns and pants, allowing our patients to dress up, have fun, and take part in Halloween traditions despite being away from home. These programs create positive memories for patients and families and remind children that being in the hospital does not mean they have to miss out on the magic and fun of Halloween," said Lisa Rivera, child life and therapeutic arts coordinator at Driscoll Children's Hospital.

Adam Garone, CEO of Starlight Children's Foundation, said, "Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to bring Halloween-themed programs to hospital partners nationwide. Together, these resources help hospitals transform an otherwise challenging experience into one filled with imagination, connection and play, giving kids the comfort and support they need to cope and thrive."
