ST. LOUIS, Aug. 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- St. Louis Town Hall to Spotlight Prostate Cancer Disparities and Spark Conversation

August 26th Event to Feature Local Experts, Survivors, and Community Leaders

The Prostate Conditions Education Council (PCEC) will host a free community Town Hall on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at the University of Health Science & Pharmacy to confront the critical issue of prostate cancer disparities and highlight the importance of early detection, particularly for high-risk groups in the St. Louis area. Black men are nearly twice as likely to die from prostate cancer compared to other populations. This event brings together leading physicians, prostate cancer survivors, and community leaders to raise awareness, share personal stories, and discuss actionable solutions to close the gap in prostate cancer outcomes.

"Bringing the community together like this is powerful," said Mellve Shadid, a local prostate cancer survivor and advocate. "We need open conversations, access to information, and support especially for Black men who are at greater risk. Early detection is the best protection."

The Town Hall will offer attendees the opportunity to hear from those on the frontlines of care and survivorship, ask questions, and leave empowered with information that can save lives.
