Solstice Directs $450K+ to New Mexico Orgs

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Aug. 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Solstice, a community solar provider now enrolling households and businesses in the New Mexico community solar program, has announced that more than $450,000 in community benefit funding is being deployed across the state to fuel a growing network of local efforts focused on clean energy access, workforce development, and community-led sustainability. Beneficiaries include Prosperity Works, Native Renewables, Center for Civic Policy, Sovereign Energy, and New Energy Economy.

The initiative is funded by Solstice's Community Benefit REC program. Beneficiaries are receiving funding over the coming weeks, with some funds already supporting jobs and training programs that prepare New Mexicans for high-quality careers in solar and climate tech. Uses of the funds include the launch of new programs to bring renewable energy education to indigenous students, support for nonprofits to hire full-time clean energy employees, and expansion of local businesses' ability to deliver sustainable solutions while creating jobs that stay in the community.

Solstice's Community Benefit REC model was designed to reimagine how clean energy gets built and who benefits from it. Community Benefit RECs empower corporate partners to enhance their renewable energy purchases, channeling corporate sustainability dollars directly into the hands of those driving progress on the ground. This means solar on community rooftops and increased clean energy access.
