STAR EnviroTech Wins Final Patent Challenge by Redline Detection

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., June 23, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- STAR EnviroTech, Inc., the inventor of Diagnostic Smoke® automotive leak detection technology, has won the final US patent challenge by competitor Redline Detection, LLC. STAR's exclusive technologies are used globally by all major OEMs and the automotive aftermarket.

In a precedent-setting 33-page opinion1, the US Federal Circuit Court of Appeals fully upheld STAR's "nitrogen smoke" patent.  STAR EnviroTech has also won every previous US patent challenge by Redline Detection. More than twenty STAR patents remain unchallenged.

STAR's technologies are available in 125 countries from world-leading tool manufacturers and distributors and have sold more than all competitors' products combined. STAR invented the standard-setting technologies for safer fuel evaporative emissions (EVAP) leak testing.
