SBCA Features Components at HUD's Innovative Housing Showcase

BILLINGS, Mont., Sept. 8, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Structural Building Components Association (SBCA) is excited to be co-sponsoring and exhibiting on the National Mall for HUD's 2025 Innovative Housing Showcase. Back this year with the "Big Green House", SBCA in collaboration with the National Framers Council (NFC), and SBCA member company, 84 Lumber, framed and dried in a 3,000-square-foot, two-story duplex (1,500 square feet per unit). This structure offers event attendees a firsthand look at how offsite manufactured structural components, such as roof trusses, floor trusses, and wall panels, dramatically improve the framing process. Building with components as a system, where roof trusses, floor trusses, and wall panels are used, provides measurable advantages in time savings, labor efficiency, and material use.

The event commenced over the weekend, Saturday, September 6^th, and continues to 4pm Eastern Time on Wednesday, September 10^th. From Members of Congress and government agency leadership to home builders and architects to the general public and more, the Showcase draws people of all knowledge levels, background, and locations to learn more about the solutions available to housing challenges this country faces.
