SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Global asset manager Russell Investments has hired Jennifer McPeek as Chief Financial Officer, adding another highly qualified industry talent to its executive ranks. McPeek brings significant industry experience to the investment solutions firm with more than 25 years of proven success within corporate finance, strategic planning, risk management, and global operations. McPeek’s career features key roles at Janus Henderson, ING, McKinsey & Company and Goldman Sachs.

Based in the Russell Investments’ Seattle headquarters, McPeek now oversees the 82-year-old firm’s financial and control functions including accounting, tax, treasury, management reporting and planning. Reporting directly to Chairman and CEO Michelle Seitz, McPeek also is responsible for the firm’s corporate services and global sourcing & procurement teams.

“Jennifer is a deeply experienced senior executive who will help unlock the enormous potential of Russell Investments and build upon our position as one of the preeminent investment solutions providers in the world,” said Seitz. “This is a critical and exciting time for our industry. We have achieved the firm’s best net flows this year since 2007 and are well positioned to create significant value for our clients in the institutional and retail markets globally. I am thrilled to add Jennifer to our executive team.”

Seitz added that she and the Russell Investments’ board are deeply committed to building out a world-class executive team to capitalize on the firm’s growth prospects. McPeek’s hire complements other recent executive-level additions including Rick Smirl (COO), Bob Hostetter (Head of Product Strategy & Development) and Gene Raffone (Chief Human Resources Officer). McPeek will work closely with other senior leaders to strategically allocate financial resources to enhance the firm’s investment capabilities, scale its global product offerings and invest in technological innovations to maximize efficiency and drive better results for clients.

“Russell Investments’ outcome-oriented approach and multi-asset investment engine position us well to offer leading investment solutions to an expanding global market,” said McPeek. “I am excited to join a highly talented leadership team that is wholly focused on delivering value for clients, leveraging our time-tested portfolio construction capabilities and an unmatched implementation platform. I believe the potential for growth and value creation within the industry is tremendous.”

McPeek’s key role at Russell Investments builds on an extensive career in the asset management industry, most recently with Janus Henderson Investors. During her nine years at that firm and its U.S. predecessor, she served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating and Strategy Officer. She was instrumental in growing the firm’s global footprint and product capabilities through multiple acquisitions and global joint ventures, culminating in the 2017 merger between Janus Capital Group and Henderson Global Investors.

Prior to joining Janus, McPeek was at ING Group where she ran strategic planning and corporate development for the Americas. Earlier in her career, McPeek worked as a consultant and investment banker for McKinsey & Company and Goldman Sachs, respectively.

McPeek is a CFA charterholder, and she holds degrees from Duke University and MIT.
