CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Rockwell Collins has selected three employees as the company’s 2017 Corporate Engineers of the Year. The recipients are Angelo Joseph, a principal systems engineer in Commercial Systems; Adriane Van Auken, a principal systems engineer in Government Systems; and Frédéric Trincal, a principal systems engineer in International & Service Solutions.

The three were honored for their exceptional technical creativity and innovation during the company’s annual Engineering Breakfast on Monday, Feb. 19. The event was held in celebration of National Engineers Week.

Joseph pioneered the most advanced commercial software-defined global navigation satellite system receiver certified today. His work enables significant business opportunities for the company’s multi-mode receiver product family.

The efforts of Van Auken resulted in a cost-effective and easily portable software-defined crypto solution for government communications products. She also led the successful security verification test with the National Security Agency.

Trincal is responsible for end-to-end systems architecture development, including Airborne and Ground components design of the Flight Operations and Maintenance Exchanger, or FOMAX, for the Airbus A320 jetliner enabling new Airbus Skywise service. FOMAX is Rockwell Collins’ first basic position win on this aircraft family.
