Registration Is Open for the American Diabetes Association's 2026 Camps

For more than seven decades, ADA Camp has equipped children living with diabetes with lifelong skills to manage diabetes while their families can be confident that they are in a safe and fun-filled environment

ARLINGTON, Va., May 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Registration is open for the 2026 American Diabetes Association^® (ADA) Camp season, offering children and families a medically safe and empowering environment to not only learn, but connect with peers and thrive while living with diabetes.

The ADA hosts over 40 camps in 28 states across the country, featuring weekend or week-long day or overnight sessions that are designed for children and teens living with diabetes, their families, and now adults living with diabetes. Beyond the usual camp basics such as food, fun, and adventure, ADA camps offer 24/7 care from skilled medical staff.

"ADA camps provide a fun, traditional camp experience, combined with crucial hands-on education to help campers build the confidence and skills needed to manage their diabetes. In the United States, 364,000 children and adolescents are living with diabetes, 314,000 of whom are living with type 1 diabetes. These children and their families must navigate daily challenges and evaluate every bite they eat, every physical activity they undertake, and every symptom they experience, often leading to feelings of isolation and stress. ADA Camp offers a much-needed reprieve for both children and their families.

This year, the ADA is reaching more children, teens, and adults living with diabetes through new camps, including:

• Camp Limitless in Missouri
• Camp Trailblazers (for families affected by type 2 diabetes) in California
• Camp Korelitz Teen Weekend in Ohio
• Camp Carolina Trails Adult Weekend in North Carolina
• Camp AZDA Teen Weekend in Arizona

Results from post-camp surveys continue to show the powerful impact of ADA Camp. In 2025, families reported seeing a significant increase in diabetes management skills and overall confidence after camp, including:

• Diabetes skills
• Drawing up insulin
• Rotating injection sites
• Accurately counting carbs
• Changing insulin pump site/set
• Making healthy food choices
• Recognizing low blood glucose (blood sugar)
• Managing their diabetes
